Dr. Jeremy Weate

Jeremy Weate is MD of www.tabernanthe.com, a start-up based in Nigeria which aims to produce and provide affordable, government-licensed GMP ibogaine to address the addiction epidemic in Nigeria and elsewhere.  The Ibogaine will be extracted from Voacanga africana (which grows in abundance in Nigeria), to support the protection of Tabernanthe Iboga in Cameroon and Gabon.

Dr. Weate has spent the past 15 years working as a consultant on natural resources, providing advice to governments, companies and civil society organisations in 18 countries.  Dr. Weate spent 12 years living in Nigeria (2003-15).

Dr. Weate has a PhD in European philosophy from Warwick University (thesis title, “Phenomenology and difference: the body, architecture and race”) and is the author of the best-selling book, A Young Person’s Guide to Philosophy.
